Hello! My Name is Jordy Renwick and I am currently in my 2 nd year of Business Management here at Olds College. I graduated from Bow Valley Highschool in Cochrane in 2010, and have worked in industriesranging from oil and gas to tourism and hospitality, and everything in between.

I spent 11 years without giving much thought to post secondary education, aside from the occasional really cold or really hot day where I would occasionally think to myself: man… I should have listened to my dad and applied myself in Highschool.

The feeling was flighty and for the most part short lived, but the core principle of it always lingered in the back of my mind. Should’ve used my brain instead of my back… oh well that ship has sailed. Which it truly had, until I almost lost my life in a work-place accident. The quick thinking and action of my co-workers coupled with the fast response time of the Spirit River Search and Rescue, Spirit River Ambulance, and STARS air ambulance saved my life.

I was given a second lease on life because of the generosity of strangers, and through WCB allowed the chance to return to school; and though I am not physically healed, Olds College has helped to set me back on the path to recovery MENTALLY. I feel an obligation to try and give back to the school that has given me so much.
