My name is Amanda Occomore, and I am a second-year student at Olds College, currently in my first year of the Veterinary Technology Diploma program. Last year, I completed the Veterinary Technical Assistant and Veterinary Medical Receptionist program.

I am running for Director of the School of Life Sciences because I am passionate about veterinary medicine, agriculture, and helping others learn more about the industries I have grown up in. I have always had a fascination with veterinary medicine and truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.

Through 4-H, I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor younger members in showing both sheep and beef cattle. I have helped them learn everything from showing skills to basic animal care, including feeding, daily chores, and first aid.

I am incredibly grateful to have grown up surrounded by agriculture and livestock, and I want to use my experiences to help educate, support, and represent students within the School of Life Sciences. I hope to bring a strong passion for the industry, a willingness to listen, and a desire to help make students' experiences at Olds College the best they can be.
